Jeter Mountain Akitas is a small kennel in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. Our Akitas excel in temperament, intelligence, and possess a healthy, powerful body. We are very proud of our dogs and what we have accomplished. We obtained our first Akita in 1994. It did not take us long to realize that the Akita was the breed we wanted to be involved with. Our dogs are a part of the family, as well as being exhibited in the show ring. Under the leadership and handling skills of Dana Smoak in Travelers Rest SC. We are also part of the Hendersonville Kennel Club, located in Western North Carolina. Welcome to JMA
The Akita is a large and powerful dog. They can be a bit stubborn if you do not get them as a puppy or train them with firm discipline. They are a dog that has to be socialized as much as possible as this breed will not back down from a threat. Your Akita will be the best protector and friend you could ever have.
